 Day 01:
MAHABALIPURAM
On Arrival in Chennai transfer to Hotel in MAHABALIPURAM ( a 70 km straight drive from chennai through the beautiful costal road,which takes about two hours.Depending on the time of arrival, a light refreshment can be arranged in Chennai or en route. After lunch proceed to KANCHIPURAM, to visit some of the finest examples of dravidian architectures,which date back to 9th - 11th century A.D.The intersting temples are – VARADA RAJA, VAIKUNTHA PERUMAL and KAILASA NATHA. After the visit,drive back to MAHABALIPURAM and over night.
Day 02:
PONDICHERY Mahabalipuram - Pondichery. After breakfast chek out from the hotel and visit MAHABALIPURAM.Luch in a local restaurant and proceed to PONDICHERRY ( 96 km.).On arival visit Sri Aurobindo Ashram,and Pondicherry museum,check in to the hotel Dinner and over night in Pondicherry. Day 03: SWAMIMALAI Pondicheri – Chidambaram - Swamimalai. Early morning departure after breakfast from Pondicherry to SWAMIMALAI,enroute visit,CHIDAMBARAM,the only temple in India where Shiva-Nataraja is worshiped,( if late lunch in Swamimali can be accepted,also a quick visit of GANGAIKONDO CHOLAPURAM is advised).Arrival in Swamimalai,lunch and afternoon free to explore the traditional bronze statue making worshops of the village ( lost wax method ).Dinner and overnight in Swamimalai. Day 04: TANJORE Swamimalai – Kumbhakonam - Tanjore. After breakfast check out from the hotel and proceed to TANJORE,enroute visit the temples of KUMBHAKONAM, DARASURAM and also the renouned temple of Brihadeshwara in Tanjore with its 12ft Shiva lingam ( constucted in 1010 A.D.).On arrival,check in at hotel,and lunch.Afternoon visit,the Tanjore bronze museum,rich in collection.Dinner and over night in Tanjore. Day 05: MADURAI Tanjore – Trichy - Madurai. After breakfast,proceed to MADURAI,enrouute lunch in TRICHI,also visit the Shri Rangam temple,the origine of this temple is reffered in our epic RAMAYANA.On arrival in Madurai check in at the hotelEvening visit the famous MEENAKSHI-SUNDARAM temple to attend the age old night ceremoney of the temple.Dinner and over night in Madurai. Day 06: CHENNAI Madurai – to other destination or to Chennai. After breakfast check out from the hotel.A final visit of the Meenakshi temple and proceed to Chennai.Dinner and Overnight. Day 07: ONWARD DESTINATION
