 Day1:
Arrival in Kolkata, tranfer to the hotel, check-in and over night.
Day2:
After breakfast, a half day/full day site seeing tour in the city, followed by lunch. Evening, transfer to the railway station to board Darjeeling mail to NJP. Dinner and over night on board.
Day3:
Assistance on arrival and departure to Sukhia pokhri by coach/jeep,via mirik.,which is about 4 hours drive.On arrival at Sukhia pokhri,check in at the hotel and over night. This afternoon a leasure walk in the area is suggested for acclimatization.Inthe evening, a small introduction about the basic norms of trekking.
Day 4:
Wake up at 6.30 am. After breakfast,start walking with water bottle and light back-pack to Tonglu or tumbling via Manebhanjag. Comperatively heavier luggage can be sent to Tumbling or to Tonglu by jeeps.Over night at Tumbling.
Please note that, it is also possible to take the jeeps till Manebhanjang,from where the actual trekking begins.
Tumbling is a tiny village within Nepal at a height of 2910ft.
Day5:
After break fast, an easy walk of 8.5 km,down hill till Gairibas ( at 2532 ft ) through the himalyan forest area. After a small tea break at gairibas, begins the first difficult trek till Kalapokhri, which is a steep climb up to 3000ft, and over night.
Day 6:
After break fast, non stop trek to Sandak-phu ( 3611ft ), via Bikhebhanvan (3260ft ). From Bikhebhanjanjang to Sandakphu is another very steep trek, which may take up to 4 hours.Normally for experienced trekkers it takes 3 hours.
Sandakphu is nearly the end of the ridge, which continues up to Phalut. The ridge belongs to India and the Houses on the left side of the road are within Nepal. The area gives a beautiful view of the entire khanchenjunga range.
Day7:
After break fast, direct drive to Sukhia pokhri by jeep. Lunch break at sukhia pokhri. After lunch at Sukhia pokhri continue to Darjeeling by jeep and over night.
Day 8:
Full day site seeing of Darjeeling and over night.
Day9:
Morning free for individual activities.Afer lunch departure by jeep to NJP to board the Kolkata bound train.
Day10:
On arrival at Kolkata, transfer to the hotel, check-in. Day rest/free for last minute shopping. After early dinner transfer to the airpot for the final departure.
