Tour of the North Eastern states in India visiting Tejpur, Bomdilla, Tawang, Dirang, Kohima, Guwahati, Kaziranga, shillong etc. We visit the Buddhist monasteries, wildlife sanctuaries in North East and the beautiful Himalayan and Khasi and Garo Hills.
Details of Tour
Day 01:
Arrival from Delhi / Kolkata at Guwahati, transfer to hotel. Afternoon short cruise on Brahmaputra. Visit Uma Maheswar temple located on an island in the Brahmaputra. Overnight at Guwahati.
Day 02:
Full day tour of Guwahati town, visiting Kamakhya Temple one of the Shakti Peethas and a very famous Hindu pilgrimage spot, Hajo and Madan Kamdev Temple. Overnight at Guwahati.
Day 03:
Proceed to Tezpur. Sightseeing at Tezpur visiting Agnigarh, Cole Park, Bamuni Hills, Bhalukpong etc. Then proceed to Bhalukpong. Overnight at Bhalukpong.
Day 04:
Proceed to Bomdilla in Arunachal Pradesh- a beautiful small town situated at a height of about 8000 ft. above the sea level. On arrival visit the town and transfer to hotel. Overnight at Bomdilla.
Day 05:
Proceed to Tawang via Se-La (pass). Enjoy the mind blowing snow clad beauty all around you. On arrival transfer to hotel. Overnight at Tawang.
Day 06:
Full day tour of Tawang monastery which is one of the largest Lamaseries of Mahayana sect of Buddhism in Asia and the Ani gompas. Overnight at Tawang.
Day 07:
Proceed to Dirang- situated in between Bomdila and Tawang, enroute visiting Dirang Dzong. Overnight at Dirang.
Day 08:
Proceed to Tezpur. Overnight at Tezpur.
Day 09:
Proceed to Shillong. On arrival transfer to hotel. Overnight at Shillong.
Day 10:
Full day excursion to Cherapunjee- town in the East Khasi Hills district in the Indian state of Meghalaya. Cherapunjee is known to be one of the places to receive the highest rainfall in the world. The greenery of the place is captivating. Overnight at Shillong.
Day 11:
Morning tour of Shillong and later proceed to Guwahati via Lake Umium- a large sweet water lake. Overnight at Guwahati.
Day 12:
Guwahati to Dimapur. On arrival transfer to Kohima. Overnight at Kohima- the capital of Nagaland state.
Day 13:
Full day visit Kohima and Kigwema village. Overnight at Kohima.
Day 14:
Return to Guwahati via Dimapur for onward destination or way back home.
